Synopsis
In a journey through time and space, set to the melodies of trombonist Raul de Souza, the short film follows the reunion of the musician with his friend and artistic collaborator, Maria Bethânia, and with his native state of Rio de Janeiro after years abroad. Narrated by Raul himself, who passed away in 2021, Heloisa Passos’s film, re-released in a new digital copy at Olhar de Cinema, reconstructs memories and fragments of the story of the “souzabone” inventor – an electric trombone with a distinctive sound that left the indelible mark of the virtuoso instrumentalist on the international music scene. This short belongs to PGM 9 and will be screened with “The Time I’ve Eaten Popcorn” and “Osório”.
