Synopsis
There’s the memory of the mountains, of first love in a cotton field, of the women who, in that nomadic Kurdish tribe, held sway over social organization. And then there’s the memory of his mother. An older man recalls all of this, but he also remembers the time he was arrested and tortured, as if there were a constant war lurking behind the serene and quiet landscapes. However, the torture did not involve about physical pain. His enemies knew that the most painful wound would come from shattering the identity of his people by violating a cultural taboo. (C.A.)
