Synopsis
The documentary follows three women, Socorro, Jurailde, and Bizza, residents of Sol Nascente (DF), the largest favela in Brazil, as they take charge of one of the solidarity kitchens operated by the Homeless Workers’ Movement (MTST) on the eve of Lula’s presidential inauguration ceremony in 2023. As they prepare to distribute free meals to the hundreds of people who traveled for the event, the film traces the lives and struggles of the protagonists through intimate interviews, offering a glimpse into other possible realities amidst the daily labor of social movements. Awarded at the Brasília Film Festival. (C.I.)
