Synopsis
Superagüi, located in the state of Paraná, southern Brazil. On this island, where fishing and land use are restricted, we catch glimpses of caiçara life. Gradually, a protagonist emerges: Martelo, a 70-year-old fisherman fighting for his right to retirement. Winner of the main prize at the Aurora showcase in Tiradentes, Pedro Giongo’s debut feature film sheds light, through direct contact with Superagüi and its inhabitants, on Martelo’s earthly desires for better working conditions and for everything to return to how it once was.
