Synopsis
The young and determined Flippa sets out in search of her sister, Furia. Their reunion brings her to an unusual community in Sardinia, where relationships and the experience of forming a family are vastly different from those she knew in her childhood. Without trying to control or limit transience, Martha Mechow follows, in her debut feature film, the character and her inquiries, crafting a fiction film that aligns with its protagonist in an unwavering pursuit to confront and untangle the knots that condition her journey. Martha Mechow studies film at the Hfbk in Hamburg and works as a director and writer. Together with Leonie Jenning, they are currently staging a trilogy as Bäckerei Harmonie collective at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg Platz. They expanded their practice within the tension between theater, film and visual arts with the performance Stimmen at Theater Magdeburg. Since all three disciplines serve Martha as a form of expression, she will soon exhibit her work as part of the group exhibition Motherhood at the Silke Vorwerkstift.
