Synopsis
In an Mbyá-Guarani community on the border between Brazil and Argentina, a film is in production to narrate the story of Canuto, a man who, many years ago, metamorphosed into a jaguar and met a tragic end. This film-process emerges from the collaboration between Ariel Kuaray Ortega, members of his native village, and Ernesto de Carvalho, featuring a hybrid language that explores the intersection of different cinematic knowledge and desires, while grappling with the possibility of becoming an elusive “other.” Awarded at IDFA and the Brasília Film Festival.
