Neïl Beloufa’s second feature shows strange figures from various countries gathering at the titular Parisian hotel while protests storm on the streets outside. A security camera tracks the action, which unfolds with the delights of well-crafted fiction filmmaking even as it provides a Warholian space for anyone who wants to act weird. Occidental greets the divided and paranoid state of the modern world with nothing less than pleasing comedy.
