A bittersweet comedy about the electoral process in one of the most isolated corners of a country seems particularly relevant for Brazil, especially at a time when the very foundations of its democracy are being undermined. The film aptly blends a focused attentive eye on its characters and their dramas with the ability to go beyond their lives, forcing us to reconsider the dilemmas of “doing Good” in wholly unusual contexts that border the surreal.
