The filmmaker turns her camera with admirable attention to the everyday dilemmas, one could even say small, which form the daily struggle to assert oneself in a country/world where merely existing does not ensure the same rights and opportunities for all. Without ever falling into the trap of patronizing or feeling pitiful toward its characters, the film elucidates why talking about one’s life is also to talk about one’s “struggle”. A radically contemporary film.
