The Brazilian film “Desmonte”, by Mari Cavalcanti, portrays a school in ruins, mixing performance, science fiction, and suspense, forming a sensorial allegory of education in Brazil. The film was developed during a visual perception workshop offered to students during the occupation of a public school in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Mari Cavalcanti studies cinema at UFRJ and at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. With friends, she co-fund the label Anarca Filmes, that works mainly focused on protrays the underground scenes of Rio de Janeiro. "Disassemble" is her first short-cut as a director.
