“Crystal Lake,” by the American director Jennifer Reeder, tells the story of Ladan, a skateboard-infatuated orphaned teenage girl who spends time at a cousin’s home while her father and grandmother face serious health problems. Samiyah, a young woman part of an all-girl group of skaters, approaches Ladan, thus beginning the establishment of a sorority between them.
