Olhar de Cinema is honored to present a program of five classic shorts by various filmmakers.

One of the greatest films from Paraná is followed by a work of French fantasy. Méliès leads into a little-known American masterpiece in which Halloween play turns nightmarish through awareness of the world’s suffering, a suffering glimpsed at by Joaquim Pedro de Andrade as kids and cats meet in the favelas. The program explodes with a story of a couple in Angola facing political persecution whose title was a 1960s rallying cry for the People’s Liberation Front.
